Test Hardware Engineer
We are looking for an engineer to debug and solve complex hardware and software test problems. You will be empowered to make decisions and implement your creative ideas in order to advance Nokia's corporate strategy. We are looking for a smart, dynamic person to work in our fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting Nokia's highly innovative integrated products. This position has an emphasis on the continuous improvement of our optical communication products, while maintaining Nokia's high quality of reliability recognized by our customers. Essential Functions/Responsibilities Attention to detail and willingness to produce detailed documentation Be able to work in a collaborative, team environment Communication - Need to be able to interface with all levels of people from technicians to Sr Directors in a professional manner. Lead the prove-in and release to manufacturing of complex opto-electrical test stations. Provide debug support to process team and improve test system uptime to support manufacturing Provide detailed documentation and continuous support for CMs (Contract Manufacturers) that operate Nokia test facilities. Support Test station construction team with guidance and documentation to drive on-time delivery of test capability. This will include BOMs, Electrical and Optical Schematics, and Mechanical drawings, Coordinate with vendors on RMA and RFQ of commercially available test equipment Be the interface between test engineering design and vendor capability Minimum qualifications: BS Degree or higher in science or engineering required (Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics etc.) 2+ years of experience in working in manufacturing environments. Candidate should have a working knowledge of analog and digital electronics and be able to review electrical schematics and design documents. Understand basic Statistics. Experienced with Gauge R&R and SPC (Statistical Process Control) is a plus, not necessary Familiarity with SQL and statistical processing software (JMP/JSL
Minitab, SAS, and similar tools are analogous.) Can read/improve in a high-level Object Orientated language (Java, C#, VB.NET, etc). Nokia is using VB.NET software to control custom and commercial test and measurement equipment using USB, GPIB, TCP/IP, and SPI interfaces. Infinera's hardware communicates using COM and TCP/IP with embedded software / firmware. Preferred qualifications: 5+ years of experience in working in manufacturing environments. 2+ years of experience with optical telecommunications industry terminology, test methodologies, and equipment. Circuit design and PCBA layout experience.
