Job Description Summary:

To provide consultation in developing, managing, and supporting specific parts of the Program's clinical curriculum. This will be achieved by adhering to established norms of higher education, accreditation standards, and the University and Program's philosophy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Typical duties may include but are not limited to: 75%: Act as a liaison and student advocate between the Program Clinical Coordinator, Site Clinical Coordinators, and the nurse anesthesia residents (NARs). Collaborate with the Program Clinical Coordinator (PCC) to ensure that summative evaluations for all NARs (within the assigned geographic area) are completed by Site Clinical Coordinators after every rotation. Acting upon the advisement of the PCC and/or a program administrator, manage issues that arise with a NAR at a clinical site within the assigned geographic area. Where needed, act as a liaison and advocate between PCC and the designated manager for any housing facility leased by SMU for the ADNP. Counsel students and clinical faculty as indicated. Maintain communications with Program Clinical Coordinator, Associate Director, and administrative support staff as necessary. Share responsibility with PCC for regular site visits to primary clinical facilities (within assigned geographic region) to observe student progress and compliance with accreditation standards and program policies. Maintain effective professional relationships with CRNAs in the clinical agency and community and an appropriate level of clinical expertise commensurate with current clinical practice acute care setting. 25%: Participation in program, college and university committees. Participation in new student orientation activities, program open houses, admissions, accreditation activities, exit interviews of graduates and special events. Represents the program at the local, state and national meeting levels. Maintains effective professional relationships within the program, the CRNA profession, in the clinical environment and the community. Employee Status:

Pay Range: Based on the rank and assignment, a reasonable estimate for this position is between $600 - $8000.
