Samuel Merritt University welcomes applications for part time adjunct faculty in the Occupational Therapy Department. of our Master and Doctoral Occupational Therapy (MOT & OTD) program. Samuel Merritt University, a health sciences-focused university, has a long history of educating ethical, caring, compassionate, highly skilled health professionals in occupational therapy, as well as undergraduate nursing, and graduate programs in Family Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Anesthesia, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, and Podiatric Medicine. The main Oakland campus, where the OT program is located, is in the east side of the beautiful and diverse San Francisco Bay area and houses the state-of-the-art Movement Analysis Research Center (MARC) and a robust, accredited Health Science Simulation Center (HSSC). Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities: Teach entry-level MOT & OTD students in areas of expertise. Qualifications: Applicants must be licensed or currently eligible for occupational therapist licensure in California. Applicant must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy, or a closely related discipline. A Master or Doctoral degree is preferred. Prior academic faculty experience is preferred but not required. Our current teaching needs are in the following areas: Assist with Interpersonal and Interprofessional Communication course (Spring course) Assist with lab in adult community participant lab (Spring course) Assist with Introduction to Professional Documentation (Summer course) Assist with Scholarly Writing course (Summer course) Assist with lab in pediatric community participant lab (Fall course) Capstone guidance with individual students (year round) Timeline: Application reviews will begin immediately and continue until we fill the position. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Rank is commensurate with experience and credentials. Employee Status: Fixed Term (Fixed Term) Exemption Status: United States of America (Exempt) Time Type: Part time Pay Range: Based on teaching assignment a reasonable estimate for this position is between $600 - $8000. Samuel Merritt University currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location, and other relevant skills.
