Inspect, assemble and evaluate surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure proper sterilization, completeness of set, and determine need for repair/replacement. Perform decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers and equipment according to established protocols. Inspect instruments, equipment and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning. Correct instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets and/or instrument tracking systems. Maintain proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts. Assist with staff training on sterile principals and the decontamination processes. Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration: One or more of the following: Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Required Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Required Education: High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
