Sanofi Intrpide Research Laboratories is a new initiative designed to identify, incubate, validate and advance science, technology and business opportunities that are deemed to be crucial for Sanofi's near-, mid- and long-term pipeline strategy. It has a global presence, China and US. For our US operations, it consists of the Intrpide Core Team, offering strategic, scientific, technological and operational support, and several Research Laboratories, focusing on science and executing breakthrough projects. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to join us as a staff scientist to provide protein chemistry support to all Intrpide research labs. The lab-based candidate will be responsible for production and analysis of protein tools and therapeutic candidates. They will work closely with lab heads and the head of planning and implementation to advance Intrpide's mission. Success in this position requires independence, an innate sense of urgency, and strong expertise in protein characterization. The position is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Main Responsibilities: Express, purify and characterize recombinant antibodies and proteins from mammalian expression systems Develop and conduct biophysical and functional assays to validate the various protein designs Analyze, integrate and interpret data from multiple sources Diligently document work in digital systems and regularly communicate results to lab heads Coordinate with in-vivo teams to validate concept biologics Work collaboratively in a team environment and manage priorities to achieve our goals Work with internal stakeholders, and external partners and CROs About You: Minimum qualifications: PhD in a scientific discipline plus minimum 3 years of relevant research experience, OR Master's Degree plus minimum 5 years of relevant research experience, OR Bachelor's Degree plus minimum 8 years of relevant research experience. Relevant research experience must be in a drug discovery industry setting. A degree in Biochemistry, Biology or Biotechnology is preferred Preferred qualifications: Experience in protein expression using both HEK and CHO systems and their derivatives, in shake flask and bioreactor formats Experience in protein purification using AKTA systems and Unicorn software Experience in plate based functional assays (ELISA/MSD, chromogenic/fluorescent readouts, etc.) Expertise in protein interaction studies using label-free methods (Biacore, Octet) and biophysical characterization of protein (SEC-MALS, DLS) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent organization, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills A creative, problem-solving, collaborative, and goal-oriented mindset Why Choose Us?
