We are excited to grow our faculty and invite Lecturer applications for the fall 2025 semester. 10 Month Lecturers are non-tenure track faculty and teach 30 credits for the academic year. Teaching assignments may be assigned at any of Kean's New Jersey locations
Union, Ocean, Princeton, Skylands or Kean Online and may include day, evening and weekend courses. Evening hours are required based on department needs for teaching evening courses and for most graduate course assignments. Lecturers are required to teach, provide student academic support, provide service to the university and community and perform other related faculty responsibilities. Proficiency in a Learning Management System is also required, consistent with University guidelines. 10 Month Lecturers are responsible for performing their teaching and non-teaching responsibilities for the ten-month period of their appointment. The Department of Health and Human Performance seeks a 10-Month Lecturer to teach in the Exercise Science and Health and Recreation programs at the Kean Ocean Campus. Courses may include Introduction to Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Motor Learning, Prescriptive Exercise, Exercise Testing and Interpretation, Statistics in Exercise Science, Organization/Administration of Exercise Science Programs, Nutrition for Fitness and Wellness, Exercise Physiology Lab, Electrocardiography, Biomechanics and Kinesiology, as well as courses in the areas of Public Health, Recreation Administration or Recreational Therapy. The Lecturer will be expected to advise students in all undergraduate majors within the Department of Health and Human Performance (Exercise Science, Public Health, Recreation Administration and Recreational Therapy). This position is based primarily at the Kean Ocean campus. Qualifications
Master's degree in Exercise Science, Health and Recreation Programs or a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required. Some research experience is preferred. Preferred qualifications include an Ed.D., Ph.D. or another acceptable disciplinary doctorate; and Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C, ACSM) or Personal Trainer Certification (NCSF, ACSM, or NSCA). Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. A comprehensive benefits package is included. In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated annual salary range for this position is: $70,489.23 to $82,242.04 (Steps 5-9). Salaries for internal applicants will be based on union negotiated calculations.
