Housekeeping Position At University Of New Hampshire
Under general supervision of Housekeeping supervisors in the Housing department, individuals will perform a variety of housekeeping tasks. These tasks provide a clean and healthy living environment in on-campus residence halls. Duties/Responsibilities: Perform tasks related to providing a clean and healthy environment in residential hall bathrooms and public restrooms, including approved methods of handling and cleaning blood-borne pathogens and other bodily fluids. Perform tasks related to the cleaning of carpet floor coverings, including spot cleaning and extraction. Perform tasks related to the maintenance of floors and other surfaces, including vacuuming, mopping, and washing. Perform tasks related to the renovation of floor surfaces, including application of stripping/finish chemicals, scrubbing, scraping, and buffing. Operate and provide operator maintenance for automatic scrubbers, power sweepers (including rider-type), vacuums and buffers used in connection with building cleaning. Use approved methods and formulas to mix cleaning chemicals for application. Store and dispose of chemicals according to approved guidelines. Collect and remove all waste material, sort recyclable materials, and discard in outdoor collection bins. Respond to housekeeping calls and/or requests for service as needed. Report all items that require maintenance/repair. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: High school graduation or G.E.D. Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job, including heavy work with exposure to inclement weather conditions for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment as necessary. Biometrical screening will be required for this position. Preferred Requirements: Ability to read English.
