Fire Protection Engineer

Job Summary In this role the Fire Protection Engineer will work independently applying extensive Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge to implement and maintain Fire Protection (FP) program requirements. The position must coordinate effectively with all work groups and may require ownership or coordination of other programs as assigned by site leadership. Job Description Key Accountabilities: The following are specific requirements to the Fire Protection (FP) program: Maintain requirements for FP program in accordance with licensing basis requirements and regulatory commitments Comply with industry FP codes and standards Comply with 10CFR50.48 and NFPA 805 requirements Maintain program documents and database information current with Fire Protection calculations and other licensing and design basis documents. Perform Contract coordinator duties for vendor FP contracts as required Coordinate FP program activities during normal operation and outages (as needed) Support Fire Marshal in the execution of their work activities. Provide support for other Engineering Programs as needed Other responsibilities include: Maintaining a position in the Emergency Response Organization Outage Support, which may include additional days and/or extended work hours Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial, Nuclear) from an accredited program. Minimum 6 yrs. relevant job experience (preferred) **Level of position and salary will align with years of experience and skills** Key Metrics: Team - work and collaboration skills across organizational boundaries Able to communicate complex issues effectively through written and verbal communication Able to influence by establishing effective working relationships across organizational boundaries In-depth understanding of power plant equipment and system interrelationships.
