Assist Radiologist in special procedures such as biopsies. Maintains records of examinations performed. Obtains and documents patient clinical history. Performs darkroom, clerical and transport functions. Participates in standby call. Performs basic patient care with scope of practice and to departmental standards. Assists in Radiology Department as needed. Responsibility to adhere to the Florida Hospital-East Region Corporate compliance plan, to the rules and regulations of all local, state, and Federal agencies, and to the standards of all accrediting bodies. The value you'll bring to the team: Performs CT and MRI imaging procedures. Positions patients and equipment and selects technical factors to produce procedure images and data as needed to meet radiologist standards. Send images to QC station and then to PACS and archives images Enters patient demographic information into logs and system. Transports, lifts, moves and positions patients as needed to obtain images, transport patients to/from department, table or as otherwise needed for patient care. Moves and adjusts imaging equipment, including CT gantry, injector and MR coils. Prepares and administers contrast material for CT and MRI, including administration of oral and IV contrasts per radiologist instructions and exam protocols. Performs direct patient care duties, within scope of practice, including assisting radiologists with interventional procedures such as biopsies or drainage procedures. Performs basic patient care including monitoring of patient condition and caring for patient safety and privacy. Obtains and documents patient history and explains procedure. Performs clerical duties, including documentation of care received as well as assisting in routine department clerical needs. Screens for magnet safety all patients, families or others entering magnetic areas. Performs equipment QC and calibrations. Rotates through standby call and is available on premises within 30 minutes of notification. Competent with PACS and fixing images as needed for Radiologist reading and archiving. Inventories, cleans and stocks work area. Coordinates equipment service and preventative maintenance.
