Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Selectek is working with a growing client manufacturer in Birmingham, AL, looking for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer with a background in Healthcare. Required: Bachelor's degree plus 7-10 years of experience in the HVAC engineering industry. Design facility HVAC & plumbing systems to meet client's requirements in projects. Perform facility HVAC & plumbing distribution system and equipment design for a wide range of projects, and collaborate with team engineers, architects, and detailers as needed to model elements into a cohesive facility model. Perform calculations, studies, and analysis of HVAC & plumbing systems and equipment to create design solutions. Specific forms of analysis include HVAC system load, sizing ductwork, sizing domestic water and drainage systems. Layout of domestic water and drainage system piping and system isometric diagrams. Layout of ductwork and hydronic system piping and associated air and/or water flow diagrams. Support production of projects including manufacturing design drawings, computer modeling, and detailing of manufacturing and construction work scopes. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Preferred: Professional Engineer license. Experience with the design and construction of healthcare facilities. Experience with 3D modeling programs such as Revit and AutoCAD. Must be able to work full-time in Bessemer, AL.
