Carrier Network Manager
The Carrier Network Manager will oversee the brokerage division's carrier sales operations, manage team performance, and drive strategic initiatives including the successful opening of a new Total Logistics location. In addition to leadership responsibilities, this role requires hands-on involvement in carrier negotiations, load coverage, and relationship management. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of National Freight Brokers and Leads, ensuring performance targets are met. Actively contribute to carrier sales by negotiating rates, covering loads, and building relationships. Oversee the launch and operational setup of a new Total Logistics location, including staffing, infrastructure, and compliance. Develop and implement strategic plans to grow carrier networks and improve gross profit margins. Monitor team KPIs including call volumes, load coverage, and carrier relationships. Collaborate with senior leadership to align logistics operations with company goals. Ensure compliance with company policies and federal/state regulations. Provide coaching, training, and career development for team members. Analyze market trends and adjust strategies to maintain competitive advantage. Minimum Qualifications: Proven leadership experience in logistics or freight brokerage. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in logistics systems (e.g., AS/400) and Microsoft Office Suite. High level of initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively. Preferred Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or carrier sales. Experience opening or managing new operational locations. Familiarity with Total Logistics, 3PL, and brokerage operations. Familiarity with AS400, API and EDI Skills and Abilities: Strong communication Strategic thinking and execution Attention to detail Follow up Team leadership and development Organization Operational planning Relationship management Computer literacy Data analysis and reporting Total Logistics 3PL Brokerage Work Experience: 3-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or carrier sales.
