Intern - College - Safety Culture

The CPS Energy Internship Program is designed to meet the industry's rapidly changing workforce needs by providing local San Antonio college students with public utility career experience. Through the internship program students are paired with a mentor to acquire meaningful hands-on experience that expands their understanding of how the industry works and exposes them to essential skills they must acquire or develop to be successful. The internship is not only meant for the intern to learn how to perform, but to also understand the rationale behind the strategies that are being used. The primary purpose of this intern position is to support the corporate Safety Culture efforts. Overall responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting the tracking of action items, data analyses, content development and maintenance, and meeting coordination and preparation. Deadline to apply: Thursday, August 21, 2025 Tasks and Responsibilities: Participate in Safety Culture education, implementation, and sustainability meetings. Assist team leads with recording applicable deliverables, key takeaways & next steps. Support and participate in conducting post-analysis reviews of Safety Culture training, workshops, and events to determine the effectiveness and identify mitigation plans and gap closures. Assist in monitoring action items of ongoing efforts and projects. Ability to perform analysis of data and trends of safety culture teams and projects. Review Safety Culture education, implementation, and sustainability process flows, remedy deficiencies or gaps, and assist management in analyzing needed changes. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Skills: Personal Computer Usage Minimum Knowledge and Abilities: Must be currently enrolled in a related discipline. 3.0 GPA or above. Able to use Microsoft based computer applications Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to coordinate multiple projects & work assignments with minimal assistance or supervision Skilled in creativity. Self-motivated individual. Preferred Qualifications: Competencies: Communicates Effectively Learning Quickly Serving Customers Delivering High Quality Work Adapting to Others Minimum Education: Must be a college student; currently enrolled in a related discipline Required Certifications: Working Environment: Indoor work, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer & calculator. Ability to travel between business related events. After hrs work will be required.
