Help As a Supervisory IT Specialist (PLCYPLN/CUSTSPT) at the GS-2210-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Provides expertise in preparing economic analysis, technical specifications, benchmark specification and audit/verification procedures required in support of Information Systems and communication acquisitions. Develops and maintains business systems and information processes to support enterprise mission needs; develops information technology (IT) rules and requirements that describe baseline and target architectures. Facilitates business process reviews and standardization/re-engineering reviews prior to the development or enhancement of supporting information systems, as required by the Information Technology Management Reform Act of 1996 Develops and coordinates policy and compliance activities across agencies and MILDEPS to effectively develop and operate IT systems that are critical to DSCA's SC mission. Requirements Must be a U.S. citizen Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service Resume and supporting documents (See How To Apply) Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation May be required to successfully complete a probationary period Work Schedule: Full Time Overtime: Occasionally Tour of Duty: Flexible Recruitment Incentives: May Be Authorized Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Exempt Financial Disclosure: Not Required Telework Eligibility: This position is not telework eligible May be required to successfully complete a Supervisory probationary period Must obtain/maintain Non-critical Sensitive/Secret security clearance Incumbent must attain DoD Security Cooperation Workforce (SCW) Certification and complete related continuous learning requirements Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evening, weekends, and/or holidays and/or overtime Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Developing and coordinating IT policy and compliance activities across agencies and MILDEPS to effectively develop and operate IT systems within the Security Cooperation (SC) or Security Assistance (SA) enterprise Developing and maintaining business systems and information processes to support SC or SA enterprise mission needs Developing information technology (IT) rules and requirements that describe baseline and target architectures For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level. Incumbent must complete DoD SCW Basic-level certification courses within one year. Requirements for Proficiency Level 1 - At least 1 year of successful SC work experience with a performance appraisal rating of 3 or better. Incumbent must complete DoD SCW Foundational level certification requirements within one year of entering the SC position. In addition, 40 hours of continuing education (CUE) every two years Re-employed Annuitant: This position Does not meet criteria for re-employed annuitant.
