Responsible for escorting school children to and from school safely across streets and intersections. The starting pay rate is $14 per hour. You will work one hour in the morning from 7:15 am to 8:15 am and one hour in the afternoon from 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm (Monday-Friday). Essential Duties and Responsibilities Display symbols, signs, or hand/arm signals indicating that vehicles are to stop for children crossing streets or intersections. Blow whistle, hold signs or flags as required. Signal children to wait behind the curb until it is safe to cross. Direct children to cross streets and intersections safely. Monitor the safety and well-being of children en-route to and from school. Minimum Qualifications Completion of 8th Grade. No experience required. Minimum corrected vision of 20/40 in each eye. Corrected hearing of 30 decibels at 1000-3000 hertz. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Must be able to walk at a rate of 4 feet per second for a distance of 160 feet. Work is performed primarily outdoors and may be subject to extremes of heat, cold, rain, humidity, wetness, and traffic hazards.
