Provides security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors. Responsibilities include: performing proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats, investigating, documenting, and managing security incidents and hazards, maintaining knowledge/following policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans, facilitating planned drills and simulations, providing information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety, and for those security officers who are responsible for operating a vehicle, operate in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations. Certifications/Licensures Required: Drivers License credentialed from the Michigan Bureau of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Michigan Concealed Pistol License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Law Enforcement preferred. Management of Aggressive Behavior credentialed from the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International, Inc. preferred. Security Professional preferred. Education/Experience Required: High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable. 3 years security, law enforcement, military or fire experience.
