EHR Support Analyst
The HealthCare Connection is seeking an experienced EHR Support Analyst to serve as a subject matter expert for the implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of Nextgen/EPIC and Dentrix Enterprise systems across our clinical operations. This role will partner closely with clinical staff, IT, and vendors to ensure that the organization's Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems are used to their fullest potential, promoting workflow efficiency and improved patient care outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Maintain proficiency in Nextgen/EPIC and Dentrix Enterprise systems. Provide direct support to clinical operations and patient care teams for effective EHR system utilization. Identify opportunities to improve workflows and clinical efficiency in collaboration with clinic leadership. Work with OSIS and other workgroups to implement system upgrades and optimize EHR features. Test new EHR features and upgrades alongside clinical personnel prior to rollout. Collaborate with vendors to ensure proper data transfer and integration through HL7 interfaces. Create and modify Nextgen reports; support quality reporting initiatives such as UDS, PCMH, Meaningful Use, and Ryan White. Maintain user access and configuration within the EHR and Dentrix systems. Develop and maintain EHR workflows and documentation. Coordinate and deliver training for new hires and existing staff, including go-live support and refresher sessions. Handle EHR system maintenance tasks, including account creation, access modifications, and configuration updates. Develop and implement data extraction/import processes to meet reporting requirements. Assist with internal and external audits by producing required documentation and data. Contribute positively to the organizational culture, demonstrating respect for diversity and inclusion. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical setting supporting Nextgen/EPIC. Proficiency in Nextgen/EPIC Ambulatory required. Experience with Dentrix Enterprise is preferred. ETO (Efforts to Outcomes) experience or certification is a plus. Bachelor's degree preferred (Healthcare, IT, or related field). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to clinical users. Skilled in analyzing clinical workflows and needs in a primary care setting. Proficiency with data reporting and management. Ability to provide professional-level customer service. Additional Requirements: Must be able to travel locally between clinic sites as needed. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of insurance required. Must demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity, including experience working with diverse populations. Comfortable working with sensitive topics, including HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ+ health, and underserved communities. Must be able to maintain patient and organizational confidentiality. Essential Physical & Mental Requirements: Ability to use a computer for extended periods (typing, research, etc.) Public speaking and presentation skills Data analysis and problem-solving Attending in-person and virtual meetings Driving and traveling to clinic locations Work Environment: Work is primarily conducted in a clinical or office setting, with occasional remote work or travel required.
