Assistant Sommelier
Our organization is currently seeking an Assistant Sommelier to support our sommelier team in providing our guests with an exceptional wine and beverage experience. The successful candidate will have Introductory or WSET Level 1 knowledge in wine and pairings and will be responsible for serving wine, cellar duties, and backing up the senior sommelier on the floor. As part of their professional development, the Assistant Sommelier will have the opportunity to work with a Sommelier or Master Sommelier to learn to train staff on wine and beverage and to ensure proper service to our guests. Qualifications include Introductory or WSET Level 1 knowledge in wine and pairings, the ability to work collaboratively with the sommelier team, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain a positive attitude and composure in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience working in a hospitality or fine dining environment is preferred. Responsibilities include serving wine to guests and helping them select the perfect pairing for their meal, completing cellar duties to ensure proper wine management, supporting the sommelier team with training staff on wine and beverage, assisting in ensuring proper service is delivered to our guests, and other duties as assigned by the Sommelier or Restaurant Manager.
