Supply Chain Manager

Location: Devens MA Location Type: On-Site As Supply Chain Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the site supply chain, including control of planning, inventory management, strategic sourcing, project support, distribution, SIOP, while adhering to WMFTSs sustainability and One Planet agendas. This will mean working with supply chain colleagues within Watson Marlow and Spirax Group to deliver world class supply chain initiatives. With reporting lines to the General Manager and WMFTS Global Supply Chain, the main remit for this role will be to facilitate and support the Supply Chain activities of the business, ensuring operational needs are met, considering the price, quality and delivery whilst ensuring continuity of supply and best practice. This position will also work in partnership with the local Purchasing Manager. Key accountabilities include: Lead, enhance, and develop end-to-end supply chain performance, working in close collaboration with the senior leadership team, Global Supply Chain, and other critical stakeholders. Own the Demand & Supply Planning processensuring accurate forecasting, effective capacity planning, and alignment between customer demand and operational capabilities. Ensure your team is trained and compliant with all safety protocols, including the use of forklifts and materials-handling equipment, maintaining a safe working environment across all supply chain activities. Implement and enforce standardized daily planning routines to ensure consistent execution, visibility, and accountability across all planners. Develop and align supply chain strategies with Group Supply Chain; establish and manage a robust KPI framework, tracking OTD (On-Time Delivery), inventory turns, cost-to-serve, and overdue orders. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external customers, and suppliers, ensuring best practices are consistently applied throughout the supply chain. Lead performance improvement across key metrics such as service level, lead time, lot size, cost, and inventory levels. Manage annual stock counts and audits locally and at third party vendors to support financial accuracy. Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained and dynamically adjusted to meet ongoing operational and project-based requirements through effective planning and forecasting. Drive inventory and logistics optimization, improving efficiency, reducing waste, and increasing responsiveness in material flow and warehouse management processes. Oversee the internal movement of materials and finished goods, continuously developing logistics capabilities to support business growth and future needs. Monitor, control, and optimize freight costs by working closely with logistics providers, implementing cost-saving initiatives, and improving shipping efficiencies across inbound and outbound flows. Lead and support the implementation and rollout of D365 FO (ERP), ensuring supply chain processes are well-integrated, standardized, and optimized for performance. Ensure all supply chain activities are compliant with relevant legal, ethical, and internal policies, including Anti-Bribery, Corruption Policy, and Group Management Code. Play a strategic role in New Product Development (NPD) projects, ensuring the supply chain is prepared and capable of delivering new materials and supporting successful product launches. Skills/Experience You have demonstrable experience working as a Supply Chain Manager or equivalent (e.g. Purchasing/Sourcing Manager) You will have significant experience in maintaining effective and productive relationships with external customers Ideally you will have experience working within a Manufacturing/process industry/automotive environment Extensive experience with ERP Systems - ideally AX Experience of working as part of a Senior leadership team. You will have robust commercial and financial awareness with strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills You will be analytical and have the ability to interpret data to provide strategic and tactical solutions.
