Senior Network Engineer

Be part of a small but highly skilled senior-level networks team responsible for architecting, designing, installing, implementing, and maintaining a large, multi-agency, mission-essential network infrastructure with very strict security, fault tolerance, and latency requirements. Areas of involvement include: Rack level, data center, and transport layers Support across multiple programs sharing agency-level standards and requirements Complex technical challenges driven by evolving mission demands Most work is performed on-site at the customer location, with some domestic and overseas travel potentially required. This position offers strong opportunities for leadership in your area of technical expertise, with additional supporting responsibilities across the team. Technical Requirements: Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, design, implementation, and maintenance Proficiency with Juniper (preferred) and/or Cisco networking devices Certifications in Juniper (preferred) and/or Cisco Proficiency with multiple network protocols, including TCP/IP, IPv4, UDP (and multicast), TLS, VPLS, GRE Experience configuring, maintaining, or troubleshooting: Routing Protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP; EVPN: Ethernet over BGP/VXLAN or MPLS/VXLAN; Multicast, STP, Virtual LANs, and Trunking (VLANs); LAN/WAN environments; Network security controls: Firewalls, ACLs Security+ or CISSP certification Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within teams Desired Skills: Juniper Certifications: JNCIA / JNCIS / JNCIP / JNCIE Cisco Certifications: CCNA / CCNP Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in technical teams Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, etc. Experience with Linux and/or BSD networking and system administration Deep familiarity with Multicast protocols Willingness to take engineering ownership and present network designs to internal/external stakeholders Travel domestically and internationally, as needed Prior experience supporting a very large, global network infrastructure Must have designed/built network environments, not just worked in a NOC monitoring role Key Technical Areas: Routing Protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP LAN/WAN Design & Implementation Firewalls & Network Security Infrastructure Multicast Networking Juniper-focused deployments (preferred)
