This vacancy is located in Livingston Parish Economic Stability office in Livingston, LA. This is a professional position responsible for the administration of Economic Stability public assistance programs within Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Division of Family Support. The goal of Economic Stability is to provide professional support services for social services programs designed to assist families in the form of financial and supportive benefits. Minimum Qualifications

Five years of economic stability social services experience; OR six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of economic stability social services experience; OR a bachelor's degree plus two years of economic stability social services experience; OR an advanced degree in a social sciences field, business, public, or health administration plus one year of economic stability social services experience. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Specification

Job Duties: This is a professional position responsible for administration of Economic Stability (ES) public assistance programs within DCFS, Division of Family Support. Duties in this position may include: Determines initial and on-going eligibility for ES programs while maintaining a reduced caseload in comparison to lower level Social Services Analysts Recognizes customer needs and determines the appropriate programs and/or referrals to assist customers. Serves as lead analyst by training new Social Services Analysts and mentoring new staff within ES Assists the supervisor in evaluating programmatic processes and procedures in the office Provides policy training to ES staff via WebEx or classroom sessions as needed Maintain a state of readiness to respond to disasters, and ensures a calling tree is in place use in contacting staff in emergencies Position-Specific Details: Location: Livingston, LA in Livingston Parish Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee. Works Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday

Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts. Compensation: The Economic Stability Specialist has a Special Entrance Rate of $22.76/hour.
