Digital Communications Lead
Nebraska Wesleyan University is seeking a full-time Digital Communications Lead responsible for overseeing the branded digital communications program across multiple platforms, including the NWU website and social media channels, in support of the University's strategic goals. The incumbent will ensure consistent brand messaging and user experience across all platforms. This role combines creativity, strategy, and data analysis to drive engagement across digital communications channels. Responsibilities
Website Manage the day-to-day operations of Nebraska Wesleyan's website, working closely with the Senior Web Developer. Monitor the website for content accuracy and ensure compliance with social and legal standards. Develop strategic, audience-focused web copy to promote academic programs and support student recruitment and other University priorities. Develop, maintain, and enforce editorial style guidelines for the website. Collaborate with University departments to plan and implement strategic web content projects, including research, creative briefings, and execution. Partner with the Senior Web Developer and the University's digital marketing agency to implement SEO strategies. Recommend UX improvements, including site architecture and design enhancements. Monitor website analytics, such as conversion rates, to inform future content strategies. Serve as the University-wide contact for website-related inquiries. Provide excellent customer service and support. Social Media Assist in developing strategies for NWU's primary social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Research, recommend, and implement social media campaigns. Identify target audiences, set goals, and maintain a content calendar. Create and/or coordinate the production of content, including videos, photos, graphics, and news stories. Write engaging posts tailored to each platform. Continuously monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and foster positive engagement. Monitor social media analytics to inform strategy. Stay up to date with emerging trends, platforms, and best practices. Regularly collaborate with other campus stakeholders who manage social media accounts. Supervise and mentor student social media interns. Other Responsibilities Support the University's digital marketing agency in planning digital advertising, paid search, and retargeting campaigns. Assist in the development of email campaigns, including writing and editing content. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications, or equivalent degree or equivalent experience. 3-5 years of in digital communications and/or marketing Demonstrated excellence in writing, communication, and creative ideation. Experience with content management systems, such as Drupal. Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite) and platforms. Experience with photo editing and video editing. Experience implementing communications and branding strategies across multiple communication channels. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills. Ability to develop and manage positive working relationships with a variety of internal teams and external vendors. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
