Wrangler
The Wrangler will be a part of a team of equine professionals responsible for the daily care of our herd. They will guide guest trail rides, lead indoor riding experiences, and assist with other group programming. They will be a key component in the guest experience at Blue Sky and will be one of the primary faces of guest interactions. The expectation is that a wrangler will work with their teammates, under the supervision of the Equine Program Manager, to provide a best in class experience that is safe, fun, and memorable for all guests. Responsibilities Must be highly focused on creating a luxury experience with a desire to engage with guests to provide exceptional customer service Works with Herd Veterinarian and Equine Manager for available horse list for rides Maintain a clean and healthy environment for all animals Complete incident reports when needed Give safety and horsemanship demonstration to guests before rides depart Lead guest rides as well as experiences in the Remuda as scheduled Work with special corporate groups and participate in special events as scheduled Work with our weekly kids program to create a memorable and fun experience for our younger guests Perform all duties in a safe and professional manner Assist in keeping stables areas, tack and animals as neat and clean as possible Complete exercise and rehab rides as instructed by Veterinarian Work closely with Equine Manager and maintenance on keeping all areas of the equine complex clean, safe and ready for guests at all times Provide exceptional customer service at all times, i.e., answer basic adventures and events questions, direct guests and vendors to appropriate team members to provide best in class service Requirements 5+ years of professional equine experience 5+ years of riding experience Passion for preserving and recreating in the outdoors Promoting Blue Sky's brand of Luxury Applied with Wild Abandon, natural horsemanship and the Blue Sky customer service philosophy Must be available for extended hours and on-call as necessary for ranch and guest emergencies, guest events and inclement weather events High degree of initiative and independent judgement including the ability to prioritize multiple demands and projects Organized and detail oriented with an emphasis on organization and cleanliness Ability to work with and communicate with guests, vendors, tenants, peers and managers in a professional and courteous manner Must possess a valid driver license for purposes of operating ranch vehicles and be comfortable operating typical ranch vehicles and trailers Professional appearance and demeanor, excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently, multi task multiple projects and achieve results Positive attitude, resourceful nature and excellent problem solving capabilities Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments and all weather Must be able to safely lift at least 50 lbs., climb, bend, reach, walk, stand, twist Our Company & Our Property
