Instructional Interventionist

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Instructional Interventionist to support the implementation of a research-based educational study focused on improving student academic outcomes. The Interventionist will teach math lessons to small groups of students in a federally funded research project. These positions will support implementation of a sixth-grade mathematics intervention during the 2025-26 school year. Location: Dallas, Texas, in-person. Work will be conducted in middle schools in the Dallas area. Training: Interventionists will receive comprehensive professional development on effective mathematics instruction: a total of up to 20 hours of curriculum workshops and in-class coaching. Availability: Interventionists must be available daily for a minimum of 1 hour per day for approximately 20 weeks per session (September 2025 through March 2026). Interventionists will deliver math intervention daily, during school hours for a minimum of one hour per day during school hours for a total of approximately 63 lessons. Interventionists may deliver math intervention at multiple schools, depending on school schedules, and interventionist availability during the school day. Duties: Interventionists will be responsible for the implementation of the intervention curriculum. Interventionists will be paid one hour to implement the 45-minute lesson and one hour to prepare for the lesson. Interventionists may have the opportunity to teach more than one intervention group per day if their schedule allows. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and at least two years of relevant experience (paid or volunteer), supporting community programs that serve children, youth, or adults OR Associate degree or higher and one year of work experience (paid or volunteer) which must be working in youth development programs, adult education, teaching, program delivery or related functions. AND Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated skill to work with diverse audiences. Demonstrated skill to use computers for word processing, data management, and communications. Ability to travel to school sites in the Dallas, TX area. Additional requirements: Successful applicants will be asked to complete a criminal background check and Protection of Human Subjects training (CITI). Must adhere to any specific school district policy for background checks, etc. TX Drivers Certification and proof of insurance is required by employee for any use of personal vehicle for official TX Business requires. Professional qualifications: Demonstrate ability to learn and follow procedures for the implementation of the intervention curriculum. Ability to accept responsibility and use good judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness in completing work tasks and interacting with school staff and students. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with research staff, project personnel, and school staff. Ability to work effectively with others in a collaborative environment with good interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to follow instructions carefully. Organized self-starter with strong behavior management skills. Ability to be dependable and reliable with respect to reporting to assigned schools to deliver instruction. Ability to adhere to CTL policies regarding confidentiality of research work. Ability to comply with CTL policies governing computer usage rules. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with elementary or middle school students and teachers is highly desirable.
