Neurology Advanced Practice Provider

Exciting opportunity to join our neurology team at Edward Hospital. This APP will practice along the continuum of care to support general neurology with a focus on stroke. This is an out-patient position with potential occasional in-patient coverage. Under the direction of a physician, provides neurology care to patients. Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations, orders imaging, lab tests and diagnostic procedures and interprets results. Instructs patients on the prescribed therapeutic regimen and pre/post operative instructions. Maintains records and writes progress notes on status, treatments and procedures. Follows patients through their course of treatment in the clinic. Collaborates with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Develops a comprehensive plan of care that includes interventions and treatments. Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate. Demonstrates evidence-based practice. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice in the specialty. Provides staff education as indicated. Assesses the learning needs of patients and families across the continuum. Employs strategies, interventions, and teaching to promote, maintain, and improve health. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of service line goals. Supports the strategic plan of the organization. Adheres to all Endeavor Health policies and procedures. Position: Neurology APP (primarily outpatient with possible occasional in-patient coverage). Location: Edward Hospital Campus, Naperville, IL. Full time. Hours: Monday-Friday. NCCPA certification required. APRN certification. Experience in neurology is preferred, but new grads are welcome to apply. Current IL license.
