Marketing Communications Professional

The Marketing Department of The Harry Walker Agency, the world's leading speakers agency, is seeking a communications professional with a background in public relations, strategic storytelling, and high-volume content creation. The ideal candidate has a natural instinct for "finding the story within the story," a passion for current events and policy, and experience in pitching, placing, and shaping messaging to drive engagement. This role plays a key part in elevating the visibility and positioning of our speakerswho range from world leaders to bestselling authors to cultural iconsthrough compelling website copy, speaker messaging, targeted email campaigns, and strategic social content. You'll help shape how our talent is presented to the world, contributing to a larger agency brand message and mission. Responsibilities Write, edit, and proof high-quality copy under deadline for various platforms (website, email, sales materials, internal docs) Craft persuasive, story-driven messaging and speaker descriptions tailored to clients, partners, and market needs Develop and execute strategies for communications to bureau partners and production companies, in collaboration with the sales team Ensure brand alignment and consistency using the HWA Style Guide Manage speaker onboarding to our website and maintain up-to-date, polished speaker pages Contribute to speaker positioning and brand narrative development across digital and sales platforms Use Outlook, Teams, and Asana to manage workflow and cross-functional projects Represent HWA on speaker/client calls to assess and shape marketing direction and materials Respond thoughtfully to requests from colleagues, helping define the "why" behind each ask Required Skills & Experience 12 years of professional experience in PR, journalism, content strategy, or marketingagency or media backgrounds a plus Strong editorial judgement with a track record of pitching, storytelling, and shaping public-facing narratives Excellent written communication skills across multiple formats (long-form, short-form, press releases, bios, emails, social media) Deep curiosity about culture, policy, and current affairs; ability to translate that awareness into speaker positioning Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple deadlines and shifting priorities Comfort with digital tools including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and project management platforms (we use Asana) Willingness to learn tools like our CMS, iContact, Canva, and othersno prior experience required Preferred Skills & Experience Experience crafting messaging that bridges media, politics, and thought leadership Strategic thinker who can evaluate how content supports broader marketing and sales goals Familiarity with email marketing and/or content design tools (i.e. Canva, email templates) Collaborative, resourceful, and solutions-oriented mindset Interest in refining internal systems and communication processes for greater team efficiency If this sounds like you, we'd love to learn more.
