Saint Anselm College, a Catholic, liberal arts college in the Benedictine tradition, invites applications for a Biology/Chemistry Laboratory Instructional Staff position shared between the Department of Biology and the Department of Chemistry and Forensic Science. This is a 9.5-month position with full benefits to start immediately, for one academic year with potential for renewal and/or extension. Job Summary: The Laboratory Instructional Staff are integral parts of the Biology and Chemistry lab staff. The Laboratory Staff prepare, set-up and break down academic labs under the direction of the Biology Lab Supervisor. Duties will include preparing solutions, reagents, and microbiological media, cleaning and restocking lab supplies, maintaining and organizing lab rooms, and teaching lab sections. Job Description and Responsibilities: Direct report to the Biology Laboratory Supervisor Teach assigned lab sections under the direction of Course Professor of Record

Maximum of 6 contact hours per semester in Biology Maximum of 3 contact hours per semester in Chemistry 3 different lab preparations, with no more than 2 new preps per semester Grading of Biology lab assignments, such as quizzes, completion checks, and lab notebook grading. Grading of Chemistry lab-based assignments including lab notebooks, lab quizzes and lab summary sheets Follow and enforce appropriate safety procedures and PPE use Full Lab Reports are not included, and will be graded by the professor.

Prepare, set up and break down lab supplies as per Professor-submitted Lab Requests Maintain clean, organized lab rooms Job runs from approximately August 15th to May 31st Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or other related science field Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills Microsoft Office competence, able to learn other programs/apps such as Workday with appropriate training Ability to safely lift 35 pounds and handle preserved specimens Ability to work during the academic year, with PTO only taken when it does not conflict with class time Application Information: Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, resume and contact information for 3 references.
