The Kuiper Fulfillment Technology Team is looking for an excellent Software Engineer. Fulfillment and Reverse Logistics (Returns) play a critical role to ensure Kuiper customers can receive and return the equipment required to access Kuiper internet. We are responsible for solving how we deliver to our customers globally, even in places that Amazon doesn't operate today. Key job responsibilities include: Solving difficult problems, applying appropriate technologies and best practices. Working with your team to invent, design, and build software that is stable and performant. Being proficient in a broad range of design approaches and knowing when it is appropriate to use them. Considering the legacy of the code you produce and writing code that an SDE unfamiliar with the system can understand. Limiting the use of short-term workarounds and doing things with the proper level of complexity the first time. Creating flexible software without over-engineering and making appropriate trade-offs, re-using where possible, and being judicious about introducing dependencies. Being efficient with resource usage (e.g., system hardware, database, memory/CPU, etc.) Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. This role is for a Software Development Engineer who will design, build, and maintain components and services of Project Kuiper's Customer Engagement Systems and interact with the core Kuiper Network. About the team: Our team owns developing the architecture, solutions & roadmap to enable delivery and return of Kuiper devices and products to customers all around the world, even in places that Amazon doesn't operate today. We deliver for a range of customer personas (Enterprise, small business, residential, and beyond) with a diversity of needs. Our ability to get devices in the hands of our customers is a critical keystone to Kuiper's success. Basic Qualifications: 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience. 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience. Experience programming with at least one software programming language. Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
