Assistant Corporation Counsel, Commercial and Real Estate Litigation Division

The Commercial and Real Estate Litigation Division of the New York City Law Department seeks an experienced litigator to represent the City and related entities in disputes arising from their real estate dealings and property interests. The division handles landlord-tenant disputes, quiet title and breach of contract actions, and initiates affirmative cases such as RPAPL 881 proceedings, quiet title actions, encroachment, and ejectment cases. Additionally, attorneys provide counseling on real estate and procurement-related matters, handling contract disputes, delay damages, and more. The role involves primarily litigating in state court, often involving complex legal questions. Minimum Qualifications
Graduates of ABA-accredited law schools At least three years of legal experience Admitted and in good standing in New York State Strong legal writing, analytical, judgment, and interpersonal skills Additional Information
