Commercial Credit Analyst.
Under the direction of the VP/Commercial Lending, the Commercial Credit Analyst will support the commercial lending team by conducting credit analysis, underwriting, and other duties in support of the Credit Union's commercial loan portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Performs underwriting and analysis of creditworthiness for new and existing commercial and small business applicants, including commercial real estate, vehicles and/or equipment term loans, SBA loans, and unsecured loans and lines.
Independently drafts credit memos for pending loan requests and makes recommendations for the extension of credit based on the analysis of the borrower's financial condition, cash flow, collateral, and other factors in compliance with lending policies and regulations.
Recommend loans for approval or declination, which may include presentations to senior management or loan committee.
Performs in-depth financial analysis on business borrowers and guarantors, including spreading and analyzing financial statements, tax returns, and/or projections, sensitivity rate, vacancy stress analysis and re-evaluations of real estate.
Completes review of real estate appraisals and environmental reports in compliance with policy and regulations.
Reviews and clears pre-closing and post-closing conditions on loans in process in compliance with policy and regulations.
Completes annual review of selected portfolio holdings, identifying issues or changes to the performance of borrowers that potentially impacts the expected loan performance. Performs real estate evaluations. Recommends risk rating upgrades or downgrades, along with an appropriate action plan, based on that analysis.
Qualifications
Accounting, Finance, or Business degree preferred or comparable experience.
Prior commercial credit and lending experience preferred, preferably in a credit union environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with members and staff at all levels of the organization.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel.
Experience in SBA 504, 7A, and Express Loans preferred.
Demonstrated ability in critical/analytical thinking and mathematical reasoning.
Strong time management skills and attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision.
Work Schedule and Benefits
As a Commercial Credit Analyst, you will work a 40-hour full-time schedule Monday through Friday.
