Associated Bank is seeking a strategic and relationship-driven Senior Vice President, Commercial Real Estate Relationship Manager to play a key role in the growth and management of our Commercial Real Estate (CRE) portfolio. This individual will lead the development and retention of high-value commercial client relationships, driving loan, deposit, and fee income growth across our footprint. This is a high-impact position, ideal for a proven CRE banker who thrives in a client-facing role, brings deep market knowledge, and has a track record of delivering customized financial solutions through cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities: Portfolio Growth & Relationship Management
Develop, manage, and expand a portfolio of commercial real estate clients by identifying financing needs, structuring credit solutions, and deepening relationships. Proactively manage portfolio performance and risk, ensuring compliance with bank credit policies, regulatory requirements, and strategic objectives.
Business Development & Market Expansion
Generate new business opportunities through active calling on prospects, leveraging commercial real estate networks, and developing strong referrals. Drive market share growth by delivering Associated Bank's full suite of commercial banking solutions.
Cross-Sell Strategy Execution
Partner with internal teams including Commercial Deposit & Treasury Management (CDTM), Capital Markets, Private Banking, Wealth Management, and others to deliver integrated solutions that meet the full financial needs of clients and prospects.
Credit Structuring & Risk Oversight
In collaboration with Portfolio Managers and Credit, structure and present credit requests, analyze financial statements, assess risk, and recommend appropriate terms. Maintain active oversight of portfolio quality and ensure timely resolution of credit issues.
Client Advisory & Industry Expertise
Serve as a trusted advisor, offering insights on market trends, capital strategies, and real estate cycles. Deliver tailored financial counsel to clients to support their business growth and real estate investment goals.
Community Engagement & Leadership
Represent Associated Bank in the business community by participating in industry and civic organizations. Serve on relevant boards or committees that align with the bank's commitment to community involvement.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
8+ years of commercial banking or commercial real estate lending experience, with a successful track record of managing complex CRE relationships.
Deep knowledge of real estate markets, credit structuring, loan documentation, and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated success in new business development, portfolio growth, and cross-functional team collaboration.
Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
Active involvement in local business and civic organizations highly preferred.
