We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Compliance Manager
to help lead our compliance program for life insurance and annuity products. This critical role ensures that our operations align with federal and state laws, industry standards, and internal policies-while supporting our staff and protecting the interests of our Members.
As a collaborative advisor and mentor, you'll partner closely with Legal, Sales, Marketing, and Operations to implement smart, business-aligned compliance practices that support innovation and safeguard our reputation.
What You'll Do
In partnership with Legal and Compliance leadership, you will: Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive compliance framework across life insurance and annuity products. Monitor and assess compliance effectiveness through audits, reviews, and risk assessments-then recommend and drive enhancements. Advise on a wide range of compliance topics including advertising, sales practices, suitability, 1035 exchanges, and annuity training. Review and approve marketing and consumer-facing materials for regulatory alignment. Lead training and workshops for Sales and Operations teams to promote compliance awareness and best practices. Stay ahead of regulatory changes at the state (especially Virginia) and federal level, including NAIC model regulations. Provide reports and actionable insights to senior leadership on compliance performance and emerging risks. Support compliance investigations and audit activities as needed. Foster a proactive, ethical compliance culture across the organization. Who You Are
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, insurance, law, or a related field. 5+ years of insurance compliance experience, ideally with life insurance and annuity products. Deep understanding of NAIC model rules, federal consumer protection laws, and state insurance regulations. Strong communicator with the ability to translate complex regulatory concepts to non-technical audiences. Proven relationship-builder and mentor, with the ability to influence without authority. Strategic thinker who understands how to balance compliance obligations with business objectives. Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities. Preferred Qualifications
One or more of the following certifications: CRCP, ChFC, CLU, FIC, ACP, AIRC, or CAMS. Note: If not currently certified, the selected candidate will be expected to obtain the CAMS certification within six months of hire.
