X-wave Innovations, Inc. (XII) is a Research and Development (R&D) firm located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. We conduct state-of-the-art research and product development in the fast-evolving areas of Sensor Technologies, Ultrasound, Nondestructive Testing (NDT)/Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), Electronic Systems and Control, and Advanced Materials Processing. We are looking for a highly self-motivated R&D Engineer with strong interest and track record in Ultrasonic transducer and NDT/SHM. Excellent work ethics, as well as good writing/communication skills, are expected. Must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident. Qualifications ·Ph.D. (preferred) or B.S. with 5+ years of hands-on experience in design and development of ultrasonic transducers and instrument. ·Solid backgrounds in ultrasonic guided waves, piezoelectric transducers, pulser/receiver, system integration, etc., are required. ·Experience in FEA simulations of wave propagations for transducer design and testing/measurement of multi-layer structures is also desirable. ·Hands-on experience in algorithms and application software development for ultrasonic signal/image processing and data analysis is highly desirable. ·Track record of R&D excellence, including publications ·Experience in a small R&D organization is highly desired Job Duties • Conduct R&D of novel ultrasonic technologies and systems from concepts • Design and develop ultrasonic transducers for NDT/SHM through modeling, simulation, and prototyping • Test and improve prototype hardware and software • Write research technical reports and proposals Education Ph.D. (preferred) or B.S. with 5+ years of experience in EE, ME, Physics, or related field We offer competitive salary along with a full benefit package (e.g., medical/dental/vision insurance, 401K, profit-sharing, paid holidays, vacation, etc.).
