Work Schedule: Week 1 Monday- Thursday and Week 2 Tuesday-Friday 8 hour shifts, 32 hours per week Location: Main Campus What You Will Do: Responsible for providing expert nursing and coordination of care for pediatric patients with end stage kidney or liver failure and transplantation. This includes the development of the transplant programs to better meet the comprehensive needs of this population. Knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and education, as acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in nursing in order to conduct patient assessment, write plans of care, and develop educational programs. What You Will Need: A license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin required. Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required. Proficiency in nursing practice usually acquired through 2 years of clinical experience related to program specialty. Experience in program development helpful. Requires independent judgment to develop, implement and monitor nursing care practices in area of expertise in order to ensure quality care and cost effective service. Knowledge of pediatric growth and development, physical and psychosocial assessment and health history taking skills, knowledge of disease process, as well as medical and nursing management of the sickle cell patient. Refined interpersonal and communication skills necessary to work collaboratively and harmoniously with interdisciplinary health team members, children, and their families and to represent the organization and serve consumers in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the organization and its services. Must obtain certification as Clinical Transplant Coordinator within 3 years of hire. Children's Wisconsin is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer.
