Overview
The Vermont Attorney General's Office has an immediate opening for a full-time Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Division. This position offers the opportunity to serve the public in an exciting and meaningful way, in addition to workplace flexibility and very competitive benefits.
Description
This Assistant Attorney General will work closely with victims of crimes of all ages, as well as criminal justice agencies including federal, state, county, and municipal law enforcement entities. The position involves conducting all aspects of prosecution, including investigation, discovery, depositions, hearings, motion practice, trial, and appeals. Further, the Assistant Attorney General will be actively involved in the investigation and prosecution of complex felonies including homicides as well as working with our Internet Crimes Against Children unit, which specializes in combatting child exploitation.
Compensation
This Assistant Attorney General position is an exempt full-time position. Salary and benefits will be based upon qualifications and experience in accordance with the State of Vermont Attorney Pay Plan. Minimum Requirements
Candidates must be a member in good standing of the Vermont bar, or eligible to waive in.
Three or more years of relevant criminal law experience is preferred.
Candidates must possess excellent research, writing, negotiation, and litigation skills.
