The Ohio Attorney General’s Office is seeking an Assistant Attorney General for an opening in the Taxation Unit of the Charitable Law Section. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of practice experience, as well as excellent oral, written, and client communication skills. Attorneys in the Taxation Unit represent the Tax Commissioner of Ohio in evidentiary hearings conducted by the Board of Tax Appeals, and in direct appeals taken from that tribunal to the Ohio Supreme Court and courts of appeal throughout Ohio. The successful candidate will have developed legal writing and trial advocacy skills, and experience or interest in appellate advocacy. Previous tax experience is not required. This position will work a hybrid in-person/remote schedule. There may be changes to this schedule based on training and operational needs. The position will be headquartered at any of our offices around Ohio: Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo, or Boardman.
Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio pursuant to Section 4705.01 of the Ohio Revised Code.
