Java Solution Architect - AI/ML (GenAI) Location:
Remote (Within 100 miles of Reston, VA; onsite once a week - preferably Wednesdays) Job Type:

Overview: We are actively seeking a
Java
Solution Architect
with deep expertise in
Generative AI and Machine Learning architecture
to support a range of cutting-edge initiatives. This is a
contract-only , high-impact role focused on architecting scalable, secure, and efficient AI/ML solutions using
AWS services , with a strong emphasis on
GenAI technologies . Candidates must have experience designing end-to-end solutions, hands-on AWS certifications, and a
Java background .
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and design scalable AI/ML and GenAI solutions leveraging
AWS tools
including
SageMaker, Lambda, EC2, and EKS . Collaborate with data scientists, MLOps, and engineering teams to build and deploy models within secure and efficient environments. Develop end-to-end solutions that integrate AI/ML capabilities into legacy systems and modern microservices architectures. Provide architecture leadership and technical roadmaps aligned with enterprise AI/ML maturity goals. Ensure compliance with
Responsible AI principles , data privacy, and security standards. Evaluate and recommend next-gen tools like
Llama, Bedrock, Hugging Face, Databricks, TensorFlow, PyTorch , etc. Guide and influence teams in AI/ML initiatives across business units. Lead model evaluation, tuning, and assessment activities to ensure business relevance and performance. Participate in architecture governance and continuous improvement of AI frameworks.
Must-Have Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree
in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related field. Strong experience in GenAI & Machine Learning solution architecture. Hands-on expertise with
AWS services
-
SageMaker, Lambda, EC2, EKS
- and ability to present
certifications
as proof. Proficient in Java
with experience in building and integrating backend services. Demonstrated experience in designing, deploying, and scaling AI/ML solutions in large enterprise environments. Familiarity with AI model evaluation, selection, and implementation. Located within 100 miles of Reston, VA
- willingness to be onsite once a week.
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect
and/or
AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty. Experience with
Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, Airflow , and enterprise architecture tools (TOGAF, ArchiMate). Knowledge of the
Healthcare domain
is a plus.
