As the organization continues to evolve, they are seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to join their leading team. The Linux Systems Engineer will play a critical role in supporting, maintaining, and evolving their Linux and cloud infrastructure. Job Title: Linux Systems Engineer Location: Chicago , IL. (1–2 days onsite per week initially) Compensation: $90,000–$110,000 base salary Key Responsibilities: Administer, configure, and support Linux-based systems in a production environment. Maintain and optimize web and application servers (Apache/Tomcat). Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Bash, or Perl for system management and monitoring. Support cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS, including EC2, RDS, and S3. Monitor system performance, conduct root cause analysis, and execute performance tuning. Assist with backup management and recovery planning. Qualifications: 4+ years of experience in Linux systems administration in a production environment. Hands-on experience with Apache/Tomcat. Experience working in an AWS environment. Proficiency in scripting (Python, Shell ) for automation and monitoring. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, and version control practices.
