Benefit Processor
is responsible for processing TRS members' records and providing customer service. The incumbent will review member records, process requests, and provide technical assistance. This position works proactively with the Benefit Processing team, Pension Services staff, and agency employees. Benefit Processor Associate
or
Benefit Processor . Candidates with TRS experience may qualify for the higher level. Selected applicants will be offered the position that most closely matches their education and experience. Salary range: Benefit Processor Associate: $48,000 - $55,000 annually Benefit Processor: $55,000 - $68,384 annually What You Will Do:
Review member records and participate in TRS Benefit Processing training programs. Perform research and analysis to ensure accuracy, determine eligibility for benefits such as retirement, disability, death benefits, refunds, or account maintenance. Verify and update member demographic information. Communicate with members, school districts, attorneys, and other parties to verify or obtain information and explain complex laws, regulations, and procedures. Utilize TRS systems to retrieve and research member data. Review documents for authenticity and process requests related to benefit programs, including lump sum refunds, purchase of service, and death claims. Process retirement estimates and applications, including those with specialized issues like QDROs. Review Power of Attorney documents and process benefit requests. Assist in training and providing technical guidance to team members. Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Education and experience may substitute for each other. One (1) year of full-time experience in banking, accounting, claims, benefit processing, or customer service involving complex laws and policies. Three (3) years of related experience in a similar role. Experience in TRS Pension Services or related TRS position is preferred. Additional Information:
