Department: Clarkson University Student Health Center Location: Clarkson University ERC Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30 Hours Per Week: 37.5 Summary: As an Administrative Assistant, you are key in the organization, gathering and dissemination of in-depth accurate information and reports. Your demonstrated expertise of software programs combined with your communication and customer service abilities greatly ensure unit success and functionality. Responsibilities: Performs a variety of administrative/clerical duties including: answering telephones, scheduling appointments, making copies/fax, arranging travel, meeting/room arrangements, processing timecards, processing personnel data, handling budgets, and processing work orders, requisitions, expense reports, stationary orders, and the like. Processes incoming correspondence and exercises judgment with respect to urgency, confidentiality and relative importance. Maintains electronic/computer databases, paper files and records, retrieves information as necessary and may create financial, statistical, narrative and/or other reports as requested. Takes dictation, transcribes correspondence, and types documents which may involve highly technical or confidential information; prepares and composes a variety of correspondence, memoranda. May perform various types of business analyses, including accumulating, calculating, and formatting information into final reports. May assist in budget preparation, patient billing, charging, and insurance claims/programs, and coordinate activities such as: preparation and control of records, statistics, and standard reports or documentation regarding quality, operations, personnel changes, performance appraisals, etc. Regularly interacts with personnel in different departments at different organizational levels within the organization, and with patients, customers, health care providers/facilities and/or other external contacts, such as contractors, vendors or suppliers in order to complete assigned work. May coordinate, arrange or conduct tours, orientations, training sessions, conference/committee meetings, department presentations or the like. May serve as Network Administrator for the department. May train, direct and coordinate the activities of lesser skilled individuals. Preferred Qualifications: Associates Degree preferred 2 years of administrative experience preferred Education: Licenses / Certifications: Physical Requirements: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Pay Range: $17.75 - $21.00 City: Potsdam Postal Code: 13676 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
