Position Status : Full-Time
FLSA Status : Non-Exempt
Pay Rate/Benefits : The pay range for this role is generally
$41,600-46,600 annually , commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. Community Health Action of Staten Island (CHASI)
drives dramatic improvements in the health of New Yorkers by feeding people who are hungry, healing families broken apart by violence, and bridging the gaps between people and the compassionate health care they deserve. CHASI provides outreach, education, prevention, and direct support services for populations most affected by health disparities - people with low or no income, low-income people with chronic illnesses, people with criminal justice involvement, people who use drugs, domestic violence survivors, people of color, and the LGBTQ community.
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Data and Quality Specialist plays a key role in ensuring smooth operation, data, and quality functions across CHASI's Behavioral Health Department, specifically supporting the Next Step Resource & Recovery Center. This individual will coordinate internal data tracking and quality assurance efforts and assist in the organization and execution of events that align with the department's mission to provide compassionate recovery-oriented services to Staten Island communities. The Specialist will also provide support for basic administrative functions of the programs, including, but not limited to, maintenance of program and office supplies and managing departmental purchasing.
The Data and Quality Specialist serves as a cross-functional liaison who strengthens communication and accountability between peer support services, administrative compliance, and contractual reporting.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Data & Quality Oversight Oversee data collection and quality assurance for all programs in the Recovery Center. Monitor staff compliance with data entry and reporting timelines across multiple platforms. Reconcile client and program data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements. Develop and improve workflows and documentation systems to enhance member tracking, service delivery accuracy, and reporting efficiency.
Administrative & Purchasing Responsibilities Serve as the Behavioral Health department's primary purchaser: track inventory, maintain budget alignment, and submit timely purchasing requests. Monitor and manage inventory for outreach, harm reduction supplies, and event materials, and coordinate storage and distribution. Ensure accurate documentation of supplies distributed to clients and reconcile supply usage regularly.
Program & Event Coordination Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing events across the division.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS : High School Diploma or GED required, bachelor's degree in public health, Human Services, Social Work, or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in program coordination, data management, or peer service settings. Strong understanding of substance use recovery, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and peer support models. Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities across departments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse staff, clients, and community stakeholders. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with databases or reporting platforms preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for events or coverage. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred. Lived experience with recovery or harm reduction is a plus and will be considered an asset.
