Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate professional education courses for the College of Education and Human Services at the Madisonville regional campus. Assist with the development and implementation of professional development schools in the Madisonville region. Site Coordinator responsibilities include recruiting and advising undergraduate Murray State University (MSU) and Madisonville Community College (MCC) students, coordinating educational efforts with regional community college and Murray State University, recruiting and evaluating adjunct instructors, supervising student teachers, and scheduling.
Responsibilities include:
- Teach undergraduate education courses for MSU and MCC on MCC Campus.
- Administer the MSU-Madisonville program on behalf of Murray State.
- Advise undergraduate students for both MSU and MCC-Madisonville.
- Supervision of two to five student teachers each spring semester.
- Advise an average of 200 undergraduate students for both MSU and MCC-Madisonville.
- Recruiting high school and community college students into the 2+2 program.
- Working with community college staff to advise incoming students and orienting incoming 2+2 candidates.
- Recruiting, training, and evaluating adjunct instructors.
- Maintaining current program guide sheets, scheduling courses.
- Arranging for zoom scheduling of courses.
- Assist with textbook orders.
- Attend Adolescent, Career & Special Education department meetings.
- Advise candidates.
- Seek instructional resources.
- Host/arrange for admission to teacher education and admission to student teaching orientations plus student teaching interviews.
- Provide Praxis prep sessions.
- Arrange for adjunct training in current instructional technology and learning platforms.
- Organize Senior celebrations.
- Participate and contribute to the MSU CAEP accreditation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Master's degree in Curriculum and instruction, Education or closely related field is required.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements
Three years of K-12 previous teaching experience required. Expertise in curriculum design models, teaching methodologies, teacher education, foundations of education, and assessment. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, P-12 partners, and community college personnel. Knowledge of standard-aligned instruction, strong communication skills, and knowledge of current best practices.
Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications
Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, Education, or closely related field. Central office experience preferred.
