Staff UI Engineer – IdentityNow (SaaS Product Team)
This role is located in Austin, TX and may require some onsite work in our office.
SailPoint is seeking a Staff UI Engineer to join our engineering organization to help drive the design and implementation of our SaaS product. We are looking for an engineer passionate about customer experience with a proven track record of delivering intuitive web UIs for enterprise applications. You will collaborate with UX, project management, and backend teams to solve customer problems and innovate for the best user experience. You will work with backend teams to improve API usability on a microservice architecture and help guide our platform's architecture. You will be part of an agile team developing new features, maintaining existing ones, and shaping the future technology vision of the product.
Responsibilities:
- Implement scalable web UIs using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
- Guide UI architecture, including build systems, component libraries, style guides, and best practices.
- Collaborate with UX to shape user interaction design, balancing customer and technical needs.
- Optimize user workflows for consistency across features and products.
- Consume REST APIs and collaborate with microservice teams to define API contracts.
- Work with product management on feature technicalities and development roadmaps.
- Break down engineering tasks and estimate based on requirements.
- Promote modern design patterns and technologies within the UI team.
- Mentor peers and facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand customer problems.
- Ensure code quality and best practices for testing and monitoring.
- Maintain and analyze application metrics to identify improvements.
- Respond to incidents and troubleshoot issues.
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience building scalable UI web applications.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, JSON, REST, AJAX, HTTP.
- Experience with Angular, React, Webpack, NodeJS.
- Experience with component-driven development and tools like StoryBook.
- Experience delivering complex features across teams.
- Strong understanding of design patterns like Redux and NgRx.
- Experience leading projects and collaborating with UX and product teams.
- Experience with agile development processes.
- Mentoring experience and familiarity with automated UI testing frameworks.
- Good knowledge of backend architecture.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with Angular, TypeScript, NgRx, NodeJS, NestJS.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2, Section 508).
- Familiarity with localization, API development, AWS, security products.
Benefits and compensation vary based on location and employment nature. The role may be eligible for bonuses, commissions, and equity. Estimated US base salary range: $121,200 - $173,100 - $225,000. Salaries outside the US are competitive for the location.
