About The Role
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual valuation and financial reporting for Fixed Indexed Annuity and Individual Retirement Variable Annuity business : GAAP, Statutory, and Tax
Responsibilities
Prepare comprehensive reporting analytics package to explain the financial results to the senior leadership team as well as analysis to advise management of strategic decisions.
Collaborate with the hedging team to implement market risk benefit and DAC models.
Ensure various valuation models are up to date with the latest product offerings and consistent with current pricing and risk management models. Also ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Comply with internal and external audit standards, including Sarbanes-Oxley control standards, independent model validation and single cell testing.
Participate on industry valuation working groups and advise senior management of upcoming changes to the regulatory landscape.
Document the systems / processes according to actuarial practice standards.
Manage a multi-level team of actuaries
Perform the duties of the Approved Actuary for Corebridge Insurance Company of Bermuda (CICB)
Skills and Qualifications
10+ years of progressively more responsible actuarial experience with valuation, variable annuity and / or indexed annuity products preferred.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in working with Variable and Indexed Annuities, including RILAs, and their associated guaranteed living benefit riders and be knowledgeable in the valuation, assumption-setting, and statutory and GAAP accounting aspects of the Individual Retirement business. The candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with the Finance and Valuation actuaries to ensure consistency across work streams. Experience with actuarial projection software is required.
An undergraduate degree is required. This individual will be a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) is preferred.
Experience with actuarial valuation software is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with current annuity reinsurance structures, especially Bermuda.
Demonstrated success working in cross-functional collaborative teams and in working with senior management.
Variable Annuity (including minimum guarantee riders), Indexed Annuity, RILA and / or other deferred annuity product risk knowledge and related experience.
General actuarial competency related to valuation (economic, GAAP, and Statutory), and modeling of variable and / or indexed annuity products
Leadership skills including business collaboration, people skills, thought leadership, and managerial skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong analytical skills.
Highly motivated and results-oriented.
Work Location
This position is based in Corebridge Financials' Houston, TX, Jersey City, NJ. or Woodland Hills, CA office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely. However, we are open to considering full remote candidates.
