Data Warehouse Architect
to lead the design and implementation of an
on-premise data warehouse
built on
Microsoft SQL Server . This role will be responsible for translating business requirements into technical solutions, defining data architecture standards, and ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability of the data warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities: Architect the overall data warehouse structure using SQL Server on-premise infrastructure. Develop dimensional data models (star/snowflake schemas) that support business intelligence and analytics requirements. Define and implement data governance, security, and quality frameworks. Implementation & Development Oversee or participate in the development of ETL/ELT pipelines using SSIS or other SQL Server-based tools. Implement stored procedures, views, indexing strategies, and partitioning for optimal performance. Define physical and logical data models in collaboration with business stakeholders and developers. Work closely with BI developers, data analysts, and application teams to understand reporting needs and data integration points. Partner with infrastructure teams to configure and maintain the on-premise SQL Server environment, including backups, monitoring, and performance tuning. Documentation & Best Practices Create detailed technical documentation including architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and data dictionaries. Establish best practices for data warehouse development, deployment, and maintenance. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 7+ years of experience in data architecture, with at least 3 years specifically designing and implementing data warehouses. Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (2016 or later) including SSIS, T-SQL, and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). Strong experience in dimensional modeling, ETL processes, and performance tuning. Proven experience with on-premise infrastructure and managing large datasets. Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for reporting and visualization. Seniority level
