Position Overview The Technical Lead will play a critical role in shaping the technology strategy for early-stage production tool development, including proof of concepts, prototypes, and pilot initiatives. This individual will define system architectures, document detailed technical specifications, and ensure solutions align with both short-term project goals and long-term strategic objectives. The role demands strong technical expertise, agile execution, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external vendors in a fast-paced, R&D-driven studio environment. Key Responsibilities Solution Architecture & Implementation Define end-to-end technology architecture for various production tools and systems. Identify and evaluate technology options, ensuring they align with business use cases and studio requirements. Design scalable solutions that meet internal system compatibility and content security standards. Technical Documentation Produce detailed documentation including technical diagrams, integration points, third-party licensing, and risk assessments. Maintain updated roadmaps for technology evolution throughout innovation cycles. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with internal stakeholders across Studios and external vendors to drive implementation plans. Provide hands-on technical support and guide decision-making across engineering and product teams. Participate in code reviews and offer strategic alternatives or optimizations. Emerging Tech & R&D Focus Stay informed of new technologies and emerging trends; evaluate and propose their integration into StudioLab initiatives. Apply creative thinking to streamline workflows and solve complex challenges within studio production environments. Team Leadership & Communication Mentor and support technical team members in programming, frameworks, and tools. Clearly translate technical information into digestible language for non-technical stakeholders. Lead efforts using Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies to ensure efficient project execution. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (Master’s preferred) 8+ years of experience in software development and technology leadership Deep knowledge of: Backend languages: Java, Python, C++, Go Frontend frameworks: React, Streamlit (or similar) Database management and SQL Cloud-based application architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP) AI/ML infrastructure and tooling (e.g., MLOps pipelines) Strong experience with: CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment systems Agile project management and tools (Jira, Confluence) Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities Adaptability to fast-changing priorities and complex environments Preferred Qualifications R&D or product innovation experience (5+ years) Familiarity with Unity or interactive media platforms Background in creative industries or studio environments Prior experience working at or with media/entertainment companies Seniority level
