Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle. Licensed Professional Engineer* *Professional engineers licensed in another state in the U.S., but not currently licensed in Texas, must (1) meet the license requirements of the Texas Engineering Practices Act, (2) obtain a professional engineering license from Texas within six months of hire, and (3) sign an agreement to that effect as a condition of employment. Competencies: Extensive knowledge of Applicable laws, rules, and regulations specific to area of responsibility for safeguarding information and IT systems Plans, specifications, estimates preparation, review, and compliance requirements Inspection methods, procedures, and techniques Applicable laws, rules, and regulations Considerable knowledge of Construction engineering policies and procedures Engineering workstations and applications supporting planning and design Testing methods, processes, and procedures Expert skill in Applying engineering principles, practices, and methods Proficient skill in Supervising technical staff Public relations and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external groups Communicating technical information effectively Training in various environments Other Attributes: Logical reasoning to define problems, establish facts, and draw conclusions; making decisions supporting business objectives Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs; occasionally carry files/tools Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs; frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs Standing for prolonged periods Repetitive movements of wrists, hands, fingers Close visual acuity for data, figures, and extensive reading Conditions of Employment: Please read the
