Base pay range $70,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr Assistant Clinical Director – Youth Behavioral Health Location: Memphis, TN Job Type: Full-Time Pay: $70,000 - $75,000 per year About Youth Opportunity & Memphis Youth Academy Youth Opportunity is a nationally recognized leader in residential and behavioral health treatment for at-risk youth. Memphis Youth Academy is a 68-bed residential treatment center in Memphis, Tennessee, serving boys ages 13 to 18. The facility provides 24/7 trauma-informed care, including mental health treatment, education, and expressive therapies such as art, music, and recreation. Youth receive individual, group, and family therapy, along with structured activities and incentive-based programs to promote positive behavior. Position Summary – Assistant Clinical Director Job in Memphis, TN We are hiring an Assistant Clinical Director to join our leadership team in Memphis. This role is ideal for a licensed mental health professional seeking to work in youth behavioral health, juvenile care, or residential treatment. You’ll provide direct clinical services, supervise clinical staff, and support youth through the stabilization and treatment process. Be part of a team making a difference in the lives of vulnerable youth Gain experience in a growing field of youth mental health and residential care Work in a secure, structured, and supportive treatment environment Develop your skills through training, mentorship, and advancement opportunities Assistant Clinical Director Responsibilities Coordinate the implementation of individualized mental health and substance abuse treatment plans Provide ongoing assessment, evaluation, and counseling to youth and their families under supervision of the licensed Clinical Director Oversee the delivery and documentation of all mental health and substance abuse services, including biopsychosocial assessments Supervise, direct, and evaluate clinical and case management staff Provide or coordinate training for clinical staff and direct-care teams Supervise specialized treatment programs such as Sexual Offender Treatment or Seven Challenges Provide diagnostic evaluations, individual therapy, and crisis interventions Participate in on-call clinical duties as needed Serve as backup to the Designated Mental Health Authority when required by contract or regulations Required Qualifications Active licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Clinical Psychologist in Tennessee Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, rehabilitation, or related human services field Minimum two years of direct-care clinical experience, with at least one year of supervisory experience preferred Ability to pass background check and drug screen Strong clinical judgment and organizational skills Willingness to work with youth in challenging situations Preferred Experience Experience with trauma-informed care, group modalities, and residential settings Familiarity with child welfare, juvenile justice systems, and substance abuse treatment Experience with EMR systems and clinical documentation standards Other Requirements Physical Demands: Must be able to move throughout the facility, actively participate in youth activities, and occasionally lift/move up to 20 pounds. Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state. Other: Must maintain a valid state driver’s license and meet state criminal background check requirements.
