Under general direction, the Senior Applications Developer is responsible for designing and supporting administrative computer systems and reports. Performs analytical and programming tasks to develop, implement, and support these systems. Works closely with college personnel to monitor system operations and maintains contact with system vendors for updates. Develops applications and activities that promote student success and lifelong learning. Responsibilities include: Serving as primary contact with user departments for defining needs, system enhancements, operations, testing, and procedures. Performing technical tasks related to application and report development, testing, and implementation. Preparing estimates and progress reports on projects, and communicating with users. Assisting staff with analysis, test plans, and troubleshooting application issues. Modifying, correcting, and adding to existing applications and reports based on project specifications. Writing system, user, and operations documentation in line with standards. Using query or scripting languages to extract data from relational databases. Providing technical and user support post-implementation. Participating in project and team meetings, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate: Strong analytical skills for applications. Knowledge of operating system concepts and Web development languages such as HTML, XML, Java, ASP, .Net. Familiarity with ODBC, database query, and scripting languages like Oracle SQL and MS SQL. Preferred: Knowledge of Ellucian Envision programming language. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Additional Details
