Advertised Job Summary: The Associate Director for Employer Engagement serves as a subject matter expert for employer engagement and is a primary contact for employers and alumni looking to recruit students from the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences. This role cultivates and manages relationships with employers and alumni to expand internship, experiential learning, and employment opportunities for students and new graduates of the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences. Acting as a primary liaison, this role ensures seamless employer and alumni integration into career-related initiatives and advises on recruitment best practices. Additionally, the Associate Director for Employer Engagement conducts data analysis to strategically enhance and lead employer outreach efforts. This position reports to the Director of Experiential Learning and supervises an Internship Coordinator. Preferred candidates possess experience in employer relations, human resources, public relations, and/or career services, along with familiarity with arts and sciences programs and career technology platforms. Core responsibilities include employer and alumni engagement, program development, strategic data analysis, supervision of internship logistics, and participation in professional development. Position requires occasional travel and occasional evening and/or weekend work. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience: Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials: None Preferred Qualifications: Prefer a master’s degree and 5 years related experience, or bachelor’s degree and 7 years related experience. Professional experience in employer relations, human resources, public relations, event planning, and/or public speaking. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Prior background in higher education, university career services, or college recruiting. Prior demonstrated experience working with alumni/employers and building relationships. Degree or significant academic background in an arts and sciences field and familiarity with degree programs in the McCausland College of Arts & Sciences. Experience working with career services technology including Handshake, Mentorship HUB, Stepping Blocks, and CRM software. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to lead projects and others, as well as work both collaboratively and independently with limited direct supervision Program development and management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities Strong analytical and creative thinking skills Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to cultivate and sustain partnerships Ability to work with stakeholders to achieve a desired result Commitment to continuous improvement Working knowledge of MS Office and basic computing and office skills Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle Job Duty: Employer and Alumni Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with employers and alumni to promote internship and job opportunities for undergraduate students in the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences. Collaborate with the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences Advancement team to provide support to contacts looking to support students’ career readiness. Serve as the primary point of contact for employers and alumni looking to engage with and recruit students in the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences. Provide support and education to employers on best practices for hiring and recruiting within the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences. A special focus of this role will be to cultivate relationships with employers to provide internship opportunities for the McCausland summer internship program. Essential Function: Yes Percentage of Time: 35 Job Duty: Collaboration, Program Development, and Departmental Support: Serve as the college liaison to the university Career Center’s employer relations team to enhance current programs and services for McCausland College of Arts and Sciences students.Work closely with Experiential Learning Coordinator to integrate employers and alumni into college events and initiatives.Support career readiness initiatives by supporting employer participation in McCausland College of Arts and Sciences networking opportunities, events, panels, and workshops. Recruit and provide support to employers participating in the McCausland summer internship program. Essential Function: Yes Percentage of Time: 30 Job Duty: Strategic Data Analysis: Consult with individual academic units to identify industries and employers that are relevant to their specific student populations. Analyze current information on where McCausland College of Arts and Sciences students go after graduation to identify possible industries and employers to engage.Stay up to date with current regional and national hiring trends and share information with college leadership and academic units.Provide insights that inform decisions on which industries and employers to prioritize.
