The PMU Analyst provides guidance and information regarding all aspects of employee concerns related to performance and conduct in the workplace. This includes, but is not limited to, assistance regarding best practices in avoiding and resolving employee concerns, issuance of counseling memoranda, probation reports, and annual performance appraisals, as well as formal actions such as adverse action, rejections during probation, Absent without Leave (AWOL) separations, medical actions, and other employment actions.
The incumbent works under the direction of the Staff Services Manager (SSM) I, Chief of the Performance Management Unit (PMU).
We are looking for a self-motivated candidate who possesses knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and legal precedents pertaining to civil service employment, conduct, and discipline. The PMU Analyst also collaborates with the Training and Recruitment Unit to develop and deliver trainings on performance management topics.
Please note: The Associate Governmental Program Analyst eligibility list may be used as an appropriate for the Associate Personnel Analyst. Candidates with Associate Governmental Program Analyst eligibility must also meet the minimum qualifications for the Associate Personnel Analyst classification to be eligible for appointment.

Working Conditions
Telework Information
This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework permitted is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change, consistent with CDPH's Telework Program. All employees who telework are required to be California residents in accordance with Government Code 14200. Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the job offer being rescinded.
Travel may be required for this position. Reimbursement for travel takes into consideration an employee's designated headquarters, as reflected in the duty statement, and is subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the designated headquarters office will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

The Performance Management Team composes sensitive personnel communication documents, such as actions, reports, memorandums, etc. Describe your experience in preparing similar types of documents. Analytical experience refers to the process of studying a complex situation to find an innovative solution.
